Chlorophytum comosum 'Spider Plant'

When you receive your plant don’t re-pot straight away, give it a week to get used to its new home first. Provide it with well-drained soil and bright, indirect light and it will flourish. Water well, but do not allow the plant to become too soggy, which can lead to root rot. Spider plants prefer to dry out between waterings. Remember to always remove dead or damaged leaves.

There are two ways to propagate Spider plants. The first is by separation, if the plant appears to be growing multiple plants you can gently separate them at the base. The second is to wait for the plant to produce mini Spider Plants after it flowers. You can then place the mini plant in some moist soil and wait for roots to grow.

The size of plant you receive will range from 14 - 28 cm, from soil up.
Your plant will be delivered in an upcycled pot, wrapped in a Grubber print cloth (much like the one pictured). However, as we only use second-hand materials the fabric may vary. Your plant should arrive looking lovely, but if any leaves are damaged just cut them off. This will do the plant no harm. Of course, we only use peat-free soil.
